Cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Ukraine and the Hellenic Republic is based on the bilateral intergovernmental Agreement on cooperation in the spheres of culture, education and science (signed on 11/11/1996) and on the three-year Program on cooperation in the spheres of culture, education and science (from 22/04/2002, was automatically renewed for subsequent periods). In the framework of above-mentioned documents, a lot of cultural exchanges are being implemented each year.

An important area of cooperation between the two states is the development of relations between sister-cities and regions, which is based on a number of legal documents on interregional cooperation implemented between the two countries.

Scientific and educational cooperation.

Ukraine and Greece continue developing joint academic programs and student exchanges.

There are more than 20 direct agreements on cooperation between the universities of Ukraine and Greece. The long-term educational cooperation unites Kyiv National University, National Aviation University, Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics, Kharkiv National University, Kharkiv Polytechnic University, Kharkiv National Law Academy, Odessa National Maritime University, Ternopil Academy of National Economy, Mariupol State University with state universities of Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras and Ioannina.
