POLITICAL RELATIONS BETWEEN UKRAINE AND THE HELLENIC REPUBLIC
The relations between Ukraine and the Hellenic Republic have long historical roots and marked with high level of cooperation and interaction. The Hellenic Republic took an active role in supporting Ukraine since the full-scale military aggression of russian federation. Greece consistently advocates support for the territorial integrity, independence and sovereignty of Ukraine, actively supports the European integration course of official Kyiv and initiatives of the Ukrainian side to further development of relations with NATO.
Both countries support and maintain comprehensive political dialogue and contacts at all levels.
Bilateral high-level dialogue:
February 10, 2021 between President of Ukraine V.Zelenskyy and President of the Hellenic Republic K.Sakellaropoulou took place a phone conversation.
November 1, 2022 President of Ukraine V.Zelenskyy had a meeting with Prime Minister K.Mitsotakis (The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Glasgow, the United Kingdom).
March 13, 2022 telephone conversation between President of Ukraine V.Zelenskyy and Prime Minister K.Mitsotakis.
April 7, 2022 online address of President of Ukraine V.Zelenskyy to the Hellenic Parliament.

June 5, 2020 – telephone conversation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine D.Kuleba with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic N.Dendias.
July 5, 2021 – visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece N.Dendias to Ukraine.
January 31, 2022 – visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece N.Dendias to Ukraine (Mariupol).
March 23, 2022 – telephone conversation between Minister of Foreign Affairs of of Ukraine D.Kuleba and Minister N.Dendias.
April 3, 2022 – visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece N.Dendias to Ukraine (Odesa).
12 July 2022 – visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic N.Dendias to Ukraine (Odesa).
Interparliamentary Cooperation:
In Parliament of the Hellenic Republic there is a friendship group with Ukraine, formed in 2019 and consists of 6 members, headed by the member of the New Democracy party M.Voloudakis. In Ukrainian Parliament friendship group on interparliamentary ties with Greece, formed in 2019. It consists of 25 MPs of Ukraine.
June 17, T.Plachkova, People's Deputy of Ukraine, Co-Chair of the Verkhovna Rada Group on Interparliamentary Relations with the Hellenic Republic, visited Greece and met with Greek parliamentarians – First Vice Speaker Nikitas Kaklamanis, who also chairs the Special Standing Committee on European Affairs and the Diplomatic Advisor to the Speaker of the Greek Parliament Constantine Economides.
