On April 13, 2011 H.E. the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Hellenic Republic Mr. Volodymyr Shkurov held a working meeting with H.E. the Deputy Minister of Environment, Energy and Climate Change Mr. Yannis Maniatis.

In the framework of this meeting the issues regarding cooperation between Ukraine and Greece in the energy sector have been discussed. In particular, the Sides discussed the possibilities of intensification of collaboration in the sphere of energy and natural gas, renewable energy and energy efficiency. Both Sides agreed that new perspectives of such collaboration have been opened up after Ukraine's accession to the Energy Community.

The Parties also expressed their common position regarding the need for holding consultations between the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine and the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change of the Hellenic Republic on acceptable terms.

It was agreed to discuss specific issues of energy cooperation during the upcoming 5th session of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Greek Working Group on economic, industrial, scientific and technical cooperation to be held on July 13, 2011
