On July 3, 2014 at the Institute of International Relations of Athens University of Social and Political Sciences "Pantio" with co-organizing of the Institute of International Affairs and the Embassy of Ukraine in Greece and with the support of the European Commission, hosted an international expert`s meeting "Security of energy supply in the context of the EU regional crises".

Embassy ensured the participation in the meeting of the Director of Strategic Planning Department of the PAT "Ukrtransgas" Mr. Anton Kolesnik, who as a keynote speaker highlighted the current issues of energy security of Ukraine and the main aspects of national policy regarding security of energy supplies to Europe, as well as showed a presentation “Ukraine: the security of gas supply in Europe".

In the meeting also participated Director of the Institute of International Relations of the University "Pandio" Mr. K.Filis, RF`s Permanent Representative of the European Public Law organization Mr. V.Smirnov, Director of  the Gas Operation, Maintenance & Transportation Services Division of the Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator S.A. "DESFA" Mr. A. Giannakopoulos, representatives of the Ministry of Energy and the National operator of  natural gas "DEPA" in Greece.

The report of the Ukrainian Representative has aroused great interest of the audience of the event, which brought together the representatives of the companies of the energy sector in Greece, diplomatic missions of the USA, UK, France, CzechRepublic and Slovakia, academics and the media.

During the event the information on the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement and free trade area with the EU has been distributed to the numerous guests and mass-media representatives
