With deep regret we learned that on August 28, 2014 died Archimandrite of the Greek-Catholic Exarchate, spiritual pastor of St. Nicholas Ukrainian community in Athens, Father Lubomyr (Datsiv).
The life of Father Lubomyr is an example of service, diligence, kindness, responsibility, integrity, ability to work with people.
Struck the kindness, humility, encyclopedic knowledge, constant work of Father Lubomyr, who was a highly educated man, knew English, Greek, Italian, Russian, Polish.
Invaluable contribution of Father Lubomyr Ukrainian on the cohesion of Ukrainian community in Athens, to the activity of Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Centre "Beregynia" and optional Ukrainian school.
Since 2002, from the very beginning of service of Father Lubomyr, Embassy in Athens actively cooperated with him. Pastor held liturgies at the joint with the Ukrainian community events and holidays in Greece, participated in cases involving aid to a particular citizen of Ukraine who lived on the territory of Greece.
Death took us the wonderful spiritual man and patriot of Ukraine.
In this sad time staff of the Embassy of Ukraine to the HellenicRepublic expresses its sincere condolences and shared with parents of Father Lubomyr, his family and close friends, members of the Ukrainian community in Greece the depth of irreparable loss.
