On September 4, 2014 in Thessaloniki within the framework of the 79th    International Trade Fair TIF HELEXPO 2014 was held Ukrainian - Greek Business forum with participation of representatives of business circles from Odessa and the region of Northern Greece. The event took place due to the effective cooperation of the Greek-Ukrainian Chamber of Thessaloniki, Odessa Regional Chamber of Commerce, Embassy of Ukraine in Greece and the Consulate General of Ukraine in Thessaloniki.

From both sides in the event took part more than 30 representatives from different industries. The Greek side was represented by 20 participants in such sectors as tourism, fur, agricultural production, construction, legal and consulting services, financial and banking sector.

According to the Program of the Business Forum, also it was delivered a presentation of industrial and business potential of the Odessa region, as well as the characteristics of main branches and basic enterprises of the region. The particular interest of Hellenic businessmen led an information regarding simplification to its minimum of customs procedures related to the movement of goods across the border Ukraine, because signing the Association Agreement with the EU, and especially its economic part.

Within the Forum it was also held B-to-B meetings and negotiations between representatives of Ukrainian and Greek companies, which according to estimation of participants themselfs, to be seen as successful and should contribute to the further development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and the Hellenic Republic.

The forum was also attended by Greek’s media society and Diplomatic corps in  Thessaloniki.
