On September 18, 2014 Embassy of Ukraine to the HellenicRepublic held the official reception on the occasion of 23th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine. The representatives of the Government, state and local authorities of Greece, diplomatic corps, political, business and academia, Ukrainian community of Greece, clergy, as well as the representatives of a range leading Greek mass-media participated at the event.

Ambassador of Ukraine delivered a speech to the audience. He thanked the Greek Side, Ambassadors of the EU member-states for supporting Ukraine in this difficult for our country time, particularly in the context of European integration aspirations of  Ukraine.  V.Shkurov stressed that Ukraine now protect not only its freedom, dignity and independence, but peace and security in Europe as a whole. 

Welcoming the Ukrainian community of Greece, Ambassador underlined its active public position and thanked for the preservation and promotion Ukrainian heritage in Greece.

Within the reception was presented an exhibition of books, provided by Ukrainian publishing houses "ADEF-Ukraine", "Persons", "Osnovy", "Smart Child", "A-BA-BA-HA-LA-MA-HA" and the State specialized publishing house "Art".
