On January 31, 2015 inAthens was held the conference devoted to the Ukraine's integration into the European Union with the participation of the Europe House "Byron", Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Embassy of Ukraine to the HellenicRepublic and the Association of the Ukrainian Diaspora in Greece "Ukrainian - Hellenic Thought".

Ambassador Volodymyr Shkurov in his speech drew the attention of participants to the problems of Ukrainian-Greek relations in the context of recent events in Ukraine, Russian aggression and armed conflict in the East of the state, as well as efforts to resolve it; Ukraine's relations with the EU. Special attention was paid to the ratifying of the future Greek Parliament the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.

 

During the conference the head of the Ukrainian head of the Association of the Ukrainian Diaspora in Greece "Ukrainian - Hellenic Thought" Halyna Masliuk in her speech stressed the historical identity of Ukrainians to Europe.

 Representatives of a leading Greek NGOs made presentations on EU-Ukraine relations, crisis in Ukraine and its consequences, and economic dimension of the Ukrainian crisis.

Conference`s participants expressed their sincere support to Ukrainian nation in its European aspirations and struggle for its independence.
