On May 26, 2010, the Ambassador of Ukraine in Greece Valeriy Tsybukh had a protocol meeting with the President of Greece Karolos Papulias upon the conclusion of his tour of duty.
During the meeting the Sides stressed on the historical relations that connect peoples of two countries, discussed the intensification of political, economic and cultural cooperation and also the exchange of visit at the highest level.
The Sides positively assessed the development of Ukrainian-Greek relations. In this regard the President of Greece Karolos Papulias noted that during last 5 years there were a lot of important contributions to the Ukrainian-Greek cooperation. One of such an important developments he named the unveiled of the monument to the Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko in Athens. With a great positive the President of Greece remind his warm reception by Ukrainian people during his visit to Ukraine in 2008.
The President of Greece Karolos Papulias expressed his belief for further prosperities in all spheres of Ukrainian-Greek relations.
