On October 7, 2012, the Embassy of Ukraine in the Hellenic Republic held a cultural event themed “Ukraine’s Day” in the popular Greek health resort of Loutraki for the Greek public, participants of the First International Film Festival of Peloponnese being held there and for the Ukrainian community in Greece.
Members of organizations of the Ukrainian community inGreecetook an active part in preparing and holding the event.
Attendees were greeted by the Ambassador of Ukraine to theHellenic Republic, Mr. Volodymyr Shkurov, the Mayor of Loutraki, Mr. Kostas Logothetis, and the Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Sagmata Archimandrite Nektarios.
Numerous guests of the event viewed the exhibit of diverse impressive printing products by Ukraine’s State Enterprise – “Mystetstvo” (Art) Specialized Printing House, exposition of Ukrainian embroidered shirts, heard Ukrainian songs performed by the amateur choir of members of the Ukrainian community, enjoyed traditional Ukrainian dishes and viewed the Ukrainian dramatic film “Firecrosser” directed by Mykhailo Illienko.
