On October 4, 2026, a daily Greek newspaper “TA NEA” published a joint Op-Ed by Charge d'Affaires a.i. of Ukraine in the Hellenic Republic, Oleksandr Kravchenko, Ambassador of Canada in the Hellenic Republic, Sonya J. Thissen, and Ambassador of Norway in the Hellenic Republic, Harriet E. Berg, titled "Path to Peace: A Partnership for the Return of Ukrainian Children, Detained Civilians, and Prisoners of War."

An Op-Ed emphasizes that the return of every Ukrainian child illegally deported by Russia, every civilian hostage, and every prisoner of war is not only a humanitarian obligation but also a crucial prerequisite for a just, lasting, and dignified peace.

The joint efforts of Ukraine, Canada, Norway, and international partners must be directed toward ensuring that every person returns home, every family is reunited, and every Ukrainian community gains the opportunity to recover and thrive.
