Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba held a phone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic Nikos Dendias.

Dmytro Kuleba and Nikos Dendias expressed readiness to resume flights between Ukraine and Greece from the 1-st of July provided the epidemic situation is stable in both countries.

Ministers exchanged also experience of their countries in combating the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus and overcoming the effects of pandemia. 

Nikos Dendias invited Dmytro Kuleba to pay a working visit to Greece when circumstances permit. Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine accepted the invitation.   

The Sides emphasized the importance of the comprehensive development of mutually beneficial bilateral relations for expanding trade and investments, cooperation in the cultural and educational spheres.

Dmytro Kuleba congratulated his colleague with the Chairmanship of Greece in the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe and called him to pay the priority importance to Ukraine in the focus of attention of this organization.

The Greek Minister assured in response that Greece would provide an unwavering support to the Euro-integration aspirations of Ukraine.

For the reference: bilateral trade turnover in 2019 amounted to US$ 586 mln. (+10%).  

Greece condemns aggressive policy of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and is in line with the EU common policy of supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Greek representatives take part in the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (21 representative). 

The Greek community in Ukraine is an important factor of the historic, cultural and spiritual heritage of the Ukrainian and Greek peoples. 100 thousand ethnic Greeks live in Ukraine and they play a significant role in strengthening friendly relations between Ukraine and Greece.
