On February 9, 2014 at 12.00 the Opening ceremony of National Kyiv-Pechersk Historical and Cultural Reserve's photo exhibition „Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. Shrine of Ukraine” will be held at the CulturalCenter of the Athens Archdiocese "Ruth" (Athens, Agiou Vassiliou, 15). The event is held under the patronage of the Embassy of Ukraine to the HellenicRepublic and the Holy Synod of the Greek Orthodox Church.
At the opening ceremony will participate the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Ieronymos II, members of the Holy Synod of the Greek Orthodox Church, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Hellenic Republic Mr. Volodymyr Shkurov and embassy`s diplomats, CEO of the National Kyiv-Pechersk Historical and Cultural Reserve Mr. Lyubomyr Mykhaylyna as well as the representatives of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The event will be held in the framework of the celebration in Greece the Memory Day of the St. Photius.
The exhibition of modern art pictures „Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. Shrine of Ukraine” presents photographs of the interiors of monuments, the panoramas of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, which was founded in 1051 and became the crown jewel of the spiritual heritage for the Ukrainian people, a holy place for all of Christianity.
The exhibition introduces visitors with the famous caves, temples and other monastic buildings that were built over nine centuries - from the XI to the XX century and make a grand ensemble of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The photos are showing the images of Lavra`s picturesque landscapes, interiors and exteriors of the architectural monuments.
Photo exhibition „Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. Shrine of Ukraine” will be open for visitors at the CulturalCenter of the Athens Archdiocese "Ruth" (Athens, Agiou Vassiliou, 15) until February 16, 2014 (daily, from 9.00 to 13.00 & from 17.00 to 20.00).
