On February 23, 2014 at 10.00 am at the initiative of the Embassy in the Church of Panagias Faneromenis have been received a Memorial service for the dead citizens of Ukraine.
Ambassador of Ukraine to the Hellenic Republic H.E. Mr. Volodymyr Shkurov with his wife, Embassy`s staff and their families, Honorary Consuls of Ukraine in Greece, leadership of the Hellenic-Ukrainian Chamber, representatives of the Ukrainian community in Greece as well as the numerous parishioners of the Church of Panagias Faneromenis participated at the Memory Service.
In his speech Ambassador of Ukraine H.E. Mr.Volodymyr Shkurov underlined the enormity of fratricidal conflict, which caused the victims of Ukrainians, expressed his condolences to bereaved, for all Ukrainians, who are currently going through this deaths as a personal loss. He called for no reiteration of the resistance for the future of Ukraine.
The Metropolitan of Glyfada, Eliniku, Vuly, Vuliagmenis and Vary of the Greek Orthodox Church Paul, who has done the Service, on behalf of the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Ieronimos II, the Holy Synod of the Greek Orthodox Church and Greek people expressed condolences to the to the bereaved and hope that the blood of innocent people is not will spill over during the fratricidal conflict.
The diplomats of the Embassy of Ukraine also participated the Memorial Services in the Church of the Holy Trinity in Athens, which gathered a large Ukrainian community. The Memorial Service has also been given at the Church of St. Spyridon in Corfu.
