On February 23, 2014 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a resolution regarding release Leonid Kozhara from the duties of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

In this regard, in accordance with the laws of Ukraine and orders of the Acting President of Ukraine, Head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine O.Turchynov, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine continue to perform their duties related to the implementation of the state policy in the field of foreign affairs of Ukraine, as well as providing maintenance diplomatic relations of Ukraine with the foreign countries and Ukraine`s representation in the international organizations.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the diplomatic missions of Ukraine continue the full implementation of the tasks of the securing of Ukraine`s interests in the sphere of international relations, rights and interests of the citizens of Ukraine abroad.
