For the period starting from June 25, 2011 until July 4, 2011 the Special Olympic Games will be held in Athens. The Ukrainian national team participates in this event, which during the first days of competition has managed to win the first Olympic medals: on 27th of June the Ukrainian athletes Pavlo Bogma and Olena Bogma won silver medals in swimming section on 50 meters and on 28th of June Oleksandr Nestrelyaev won the gold medal in swimming freestyle section for 100 meters.

The Ukrainian athletes are competing in the following sections: football, athletics, swimming, badminton and bocho.
