On January 13, 2011 Ambassador of Ukraine to Hellenic Republic Volodymyr Shkurov met with the Secretary General of Sport of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Hellenic Republic Panayotis Bitsaksis.

During the meeting the current state and prospects of Greek-Ukrainian cooperation in the field of sports was discussed as well as mutual interest in strengthening relations between Ukraine and Greece in this field was confirmed. In particular, the Sides stressed on the importance of signing of the Protocol on cooperation on sports between the two countries, facilitation of the exchanges of athletes and application of the Greece’s experience in organization of international sports events during the preparation of European Football Championship EURO-2012 in Ukraine.
