Ambassador of Ukraine Serhiy Shutenko congratulated the students of the Ukrainian catechetical school in Athens on the Day of Ukrainian writing and language.
"A nation should defend its language more than its territory," said Lesya Ukrainka. The territory can be conquered, but when the language dies, so does the nation.
Ukrainian schoolchildren are very motivated. They know that now Ukrainians are paying the highest price for the right to live freely, for the right to be Ukrainians, for the right to freely speak, write, think, and dream in the Ukrainian language.
We sincerely rejoice at the conscientiousness with which Ukrainian schoolchildren learn their native language. We are proud of the successes and victories of our students. We are happy to congratulate Anton Kozlov, who received a 1st degree diploma in the nomination "Translation from a foreign language into Ukrainian" for his participation in the competition for students of Saturday and Sunday schools abroad in Ukraine "Movograi"!
Sincere thanks to all teachers for their unceasing desire to give our children knowledge, love for their native language and culture.
