The threads that bind us, or a modern dialogue using traditional Ukrainian and Greek costumes.
This was the motto of the photo exhibition that opened yesterday in Chora and Dryopida towns on the island of Kythnos. Tens of thousands of tourists throughout the summer and September will be able to appreciate wonderful posters with images of Ukrainian and Greek photo models in traditional costumes of our peoples.
The uniqueness of the exhibition is not only in the combination of two unique cultures and the search for those invisible threads that bind, complement and enrich them, but also in the way the photo exhibition is presented. If you travel along the hospitable streets of Chora and Dryopida, the walls of the houses will be able to tell you a lot of interesting things about the traditions of Ukrainian and Greek clothing.
The exhibition is going to Athens and other cities of Greece, but its opening on the island of Kythnos was not accidental at all. Kythnos has sister relations with Mariupol and the village of Sartana. And in the small town of Chora, there are two streets with names related to Ukraine!
We thank personaly the mayor of Kitnos, Mr. Stamatis Garderis, the chairman of the Cultural Initiative of Kitniale Ms. Chara Eleni Mitsotaki, and the Ukrainian women in Greece for the implementation of this project.
