On August 22, 2014 Embassy of Ukraine to the Hellenic Republic with the participation of the local governments of Greece held ceremonial events to mark the 23th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine.

The ceremonial laying of flowers being held at the monument of Great Kobzar on the Square of "Greek-Ukrainian Friendship" in Mandra (Municipality Mandra – Idillia).

During the event, Mayor of Mandra – Idillia Mr. G.Drikos wished Ukraine as soon as possible the return the peace, underlined the important role of the Ukrainian-Greek regional cooperation and stressed the readiness for further development of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation.

At the same day, the flowers has been laid at the monument of Taras Shevchenko,  installed in Zografou municipality of the city of Athens. 

The Deputy Mayor of Zografou Mrs. M.Varsamidaki welcomed the attendees of the ceremony and wished peace and harmony, unity, prosperity and favor to support the democratic development of Ukraine.
