On January 26, 2011 bilateral meeting between the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Hellenic Republic Volodymyr Shkurov and the President of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture, a member of the Board of Directors of the A.Onassis Public Benefit Foundation prof. George Babiniotis was held.

During the meeting the current state and the prospects of bilateral cultural, scientific and educational cooperation between Ukraine and Greece were discussed as well as possible ways of intensification of collaboration in the issues of joint projects, exchange of scholars and students and organizing of common workshops and meetings between universities of both countries.

George Babiniotis emphasized the interest in collaboration with Ukrainian scientists in various fields, which currently exists in the framework of special programs of A. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation, and expressed initiative to hold a joint meeting of academics and scientists of Ukrainian and Greek universities in Ukraine in debate format.
